Located near Eagle Lake, Greenleaf is a popular hut with dayhikers. The hut sleeps 48 in two bunkrooms with a crew of 5 people. It is located on the knee of Mt Lafayette.
The hut was built in 1930 and has had some improvements in recent years, adding some new composting toilets and creating better handicapped access. Changes were made several years ealier to add more area to the croo room, kitchen, and the main room.
The most popular route is 2.9 miles via the Old Bridle Path from Lafayette Place Campground in Franconia Notch. The Greenleaf trail is shorter, starting at the Cannon Aerial Tram base station and taking 2.7 miles. From the hut you can continue on the Greenleaf trail 1.1 miles to the summit of Lafayette. The Franconia Ridge trail, part of the Appalachian Trail runs along the ridgetop above the hut.
The hut just south is Lonesome Lake, with Galehead to the north along the Garfield Ridge trail.
