The Imp Campsite is 1.7 miles north of the summit of North Carter along the Carter-Moriah Ridge trail and down .2 miles on a spur trail. The shelter is similar in construction to the Guyot Shelter, a closed structure (photo credit Ellen Lavoie) with a large sleeping shelf that sleeps 12 people total. There are also four single and one double tent platforms and a composting toilet. In summer, a caretaker is present and a fee is charged. North of the shelter is Moriah and south is Middle Carter.
