Rattle River Shelter
The Rattle River Shelter is the last established campsite on the AT before crossing Rt 2 and heading into the Mahoosucs. The shelter sleeps 6-8 and there are numerous places nearby to set up a tent. The AT runs along the Rattle River trail right in front of the shelter and 1.6 miles from the road. It's a just a 100' to the river and a nice place to soak your feet. There is no fee or caretaker.
