Osceola and East Osceola from Tripyramids
Osceola - 4340'
This peak is located in the Waterville Valley area. The main route is the Mount Osceola trail which climbs from the height of land on the Tripoli Road. The route trip is 6.4 miles, but the road is gated in winter. The summit is partly open, with excellent views to the west and south, with good views north from a small lookout. The Osceolas were named for the Seminole chief at some point in the 1800's.
From the summit you can see the Tripyramids, Tecumseh and the town of Waterville Valley. To the north, there are views of the whole Pemigewasset Wilderness. Just east of the main summit is East Osceola which is connected by a rocky ridge. There used to be a fire tower on the summit of Osceola, but it was removed in the mid-80s.
Trailheads
- Tripoli Road - The parking lot is at the height of land, 7.0 miles east of I-93 exit 31. This parking lot serves the Mt Osceola trail. A WMNF parking pass is needed.
